Spectrum-first analysis
It trusts the sample, not a menu setting.
Most handheld software makes you choose a database first, and the answer depends on that choice. ESMI reads the X-ray spectrum itself, recognises what kind of sample it is, and calculates with the right physics. Your photo choice is only a hint.
- Recognises the sample type from the spectrum: precious metal, base metal, light ore, heavy ore or rare earths. When it is not sure, it says so instead of guessing.
- Calculates with a physics model (fundamental parameters) that uses the exact conditions of each measurement: voltage, current and filter.
- Anchored to ESMI's own reference samples, a pure silver coin and a 16-karat gold ring, not to factory curves.
- When your choice and the spectrum disagree, you see both and decide: “Calculate as gold” or “Keep soil”.
- Original app · database setting AAu 66.7–67.7 %
- Original app · database setting BAu 0.26 %
- Original app · database setting Cno gold reported
- ESMI, from the spectraAu 66.0–68.5 % · ≈ 16 k
Settings anonymised. ESMI's range covers three measurement conditions.
When the photo choice and the spectrum disagree, the operator decides.
